Styler team had a deeper talk with BEELIA president, Emdad Ur Rahman at the expo premises just after the opening ceremony. He pointed out the present scenario & future prospects of this Industry. “First is the duty-tax issue. The less the duty-tax, the more is business growth and full promise to ensure quality. After 2022’s national budget, lift-escalator-elevator has been a “luxury commodity”, which was in “essential category” in previous years. This resulted into inevitable price-hike. Duty-tax has multiplied 25 times. Acting interim-govt. must take a look on this burning matter.” He also added- “through BEELIA, we promise to deliver the best genuine equipment from world’s top brands to our country’s buyers & users. We want to safeguard the technical knowledge & know-how for the traders of this industry. We inspire quality, capability & commitment. All these can be possible rapidly if a congenial business atmosphere is set. C&F alongside the Port authority should develop a data-record facility that can prevent asking for same documents of importers again and again. Thus, port clearance can be hassle free & quicker.” 36-years experienced Mr. Emdad also emphasized on a “Regulatory Body” in this regard, which is missing for long. To note, he is the MD & CEO of country’s one of the loyal importers, Matrix Lift Ltd. which represents German’s remarkable Volkslift brand.

To remark a set of challenges, K Anwar Chowdhury, hon’ble member of BEELIA & MD of Pico Plus Ltd. mentioned: “This industry faces several challenges- shipping delay & complexity, customs delay & complex formality, repeated verification of importer & documents hassle, Cargo carrying problems, bad conditions of road & highways and etc. If these are settled properly, lift industry can boom in smoother style to boost up the economy of Bangladesh.” Also, he told: “Excellence in Lift business combines of 4 Engineering. Therefore, well & latest knowledge is required least installation fault, mechanical error & technical issues may arise all of a sudden.” Anwar Chowdhury’s son Enayetur Rahman, business development director of Pico Plus focused on value of QC compliance & brand protection in this sector.

To add, BEELIA has incorporated 100+ companies as its member who are proven with best business practice. Every year, this kind of Int’l expo of elevators exhibition is the prime focus of BEELIA. Thus local buyers can obtain the top-class brands under one roof. For more details about this glorious event, website: https://beelia.org/
